About Taos Ski Academy The TAOS SKI ACADEMY (TSAY) was born as a labor of love by Coach Alain Veth. He was Top 15 in the world as a junior racer. He then competed on the French National Ski Team became a Pro Racer, PSIA Examiner and Taos Ski Instructor at the famous Ernie Blake Ski School. However, it was the insistence of some parents who wished to create a benchmark of skiers on the mountain and with the support of Taos Ski Valley this Ski Academy was given its first breath of life. TSAY is a small tight-knit group of 14 racers committed to their Coach's technique-rich ski race program. TSAY is designed first to be a focused learning environment and ultimately a place where a child can reach their full potential as a ski racer. TSAY serves as the training ground for youth whose chosen "out-of-classroom" subject is ski racing. Our curriculum is directed at developing the love and joy for the sport of skiing and creating technically sound skiers who have athletic discipline and team loyalty. The TSAY hope is that with these principles being applied it will create a benchmark of ski racers who one day will become very successful in their ski careers.
